China, France sign 12 agreements in Beijing

French enginemaker CFM International, a joint venture between General Electric and France's Safran, will provide its LEAP-X turbofan engines for China's first proprietary jumbo jet the C919, as it plans to set up an assembly line in China according to agreements signed by Chinese and French corporate representatives in Beijing Monday.

China and France inked 12 agreements at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, following French PM Francois Fillon's meeting with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

The other deals covered cooperation in such areas as nuclear energy utilization, culture and water resource utilization.
