Sending emails to report corruption or injustice is proving to be effective in fighting crime, Beijing Youth Daily reported today.
China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) opened an email box for the public on May 6, 2009 to report criminal activity.. By the end of August it had received 16,094 reports, said Sun Jungong, a spokesman for SPC. Up to the end of November, 116 people were handed over to judicial organs, 126 were given disciplinary punishments and 114 removed from posts.
