Students forced to leave lunch outside school gate

Parents of students at a suburban school in Shanghai are outraged their children have to have lunch outside the gates of the school.
Since the new school term started in September, most students in the school eat lunch, which costs 5 yuan (74 cents), in the canteen. However, a number of other students bring along homemade food, which school authorities do not permit inside the campus.
The students have to leave their lunch boxes at the gate of the school and step out to fill their tummies during recess.
