The construction site of the light railway in Changchun caught fire Monday just 24-hours after a train collision injured 46 in the same city, xinhuanet.com reported.

The pier on the light railway underpass caught fire, which caused more than 10 meters of heavy smoke with ten fire engines attending the scene to extinguish the blaze in Changchun, the capital of Jilin province.

Wooden support beams and the material covering them are thought to have caused the blaze.

The fire comes just 24-hours after a rear-end collision on a light railway injured 46 people.
