UN under-secretary-general visits Expo site

Sha Zukang, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, visited the under-construction Expo site over the weekend.

His stops included the Expo Center, which has just witnessed its completion, and the UN Pavilion, China Pavilion and Expo Boulevard.

He also discussed issues regarding the Expo's summit forum with the organizer and visited the site which will host the forum.

The summit forum will be the climax of Expo forums as it will issue the "Shanghai Declaration" focusing on global urbanization issues.

Shanghai executive vice mayor Yang Xiong and Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, accompanied Sha during his visit.
