A week-long Expo promotional campaign started in Shaanxi Province on January 13, featuring an Expo-themed exhibition, the unveiling ceremony of Expo mascot Haibao's statue, Expo tour package authorization, a lecture and a forum.
The message came from a press conference Xi'an Wednesday morning. Xi'an and Yan'an, two cities in the province, will host these events.
Two robots designed to look like Emperor Xuanzong and his favorite concubine, Yang Guifei, in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), will talk with visitors and pose for photos at the entrance of the Shaanxi Pavilion.
Inside the pavilion, an LED screen will show the story of Xuanzong and Yangguifei, based on "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow," written by Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi.
Visitors will learn about the urban planning of Shaanxi and experience its beautiful landscape.
