New Tibet chairman elected

Padma Choling, a native Tibetan and former vice-chairman of Tibet, was elected chairman of the Tibet autonomous region on Friday at the regional parliamentary session.

He replaces Qiangba Puncog, who was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the Regional People's Congress on Friday.
