BEIJING: Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang will pay an official visit to Switzerland from January 25 to 28, and attend this year's World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu made the announcement at a regular press conference Thursday.
China hoped all parties could use the WEF platform to explore how to draw on lessons from the crisis, resolve contradictions in international economic operation, overcome trade and investment protectionism, cope with global issues such as climate change, food and energy security, and put forward feasible and effective suggestions, said Ma.
He said the world economy was in a critical period of recovery. The foundation on which the recovery was based was still not solid and the profound influence of the global financial crisis remained.
The overall recovery of world economic growth still faced uncertain and unsteady factors, he said.
