Fireworks explosion kills 5 in Hohhot

An explosion in a fireworks factory killed 5 people and injured 10 Wednesday morning, xinhuanet.com reported.
The factory is in Chaohao village of Hohhot in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Fire and rescue departments went to the scene immediately. The injured were sent to the hospital.
"The fireworks factory is an unlicensed workshop and the owner Zhang Zhigang has run away. The factory hurried to produce fireworks before the Chinese New Year," said Su Ya, deputy director of Hohhot safety supervision bureau.
The police are seeking the suspect, the report said.
