The Chinese Defense Ministry this morning denied any military support behind the cyber attacks against Google.com.
"Actually China's information network, especially the military has long been a victim of overseas hacking. China's law forbids any form of cyber attacks. China attaches great importance to fighting cyber crimes and has been trying to enhance cooperation with other countries and international organizations on it."
In a recent report, The New York Times linked two Chinese educational institutions - Lanxiang Vocational School based in Jinan, Shandong province and Shanghai Jiaotong University - to the online attacks that also targeted American corporations.
The newspaper also cited Lanxiang's ties with the Chinese military, saying some graduates of the school have joined the military.
