Cop detained after car hits pedestrian in SW China

CHONGQING: A policeman has been detained after the police car he was driving fatally hit a pedestrian in southwest China's Chongqing municipality, local authorities said Saturday.
The accident occurred at 7:40 pm Friday in Changshou district as the policeman, Li Zhirong, drove the police car.
The victim died after medical treatment failed, according to the municipal public security bureau.
The bureau head has ordered Li be strictly punished according to the law.
