100 state leaders to attend Expo opening

BEIJING: About 100 state leaders will attend the opening ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo scheduled on May 1.
Wan Jifei, vice-chairman of the Expo organizing committee, said on Sunday that the opening ceremony will feature a setting of the Huangpu River, the main river in Shanghai, and a display of fireworks in combination of special light and sound effects.
Wan admitted that he is concerned about public opinion of the China Pavilion.
"I wish it a big success and hope more people can appreciate our efforts in China Pavilion," said Wan.
