VP Xi to visit 4 European nations

BEIJING - Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping will visit Russia, Belarus, Finland and Sweden in late March, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

The ministry's spokesman Qin Gang said that Xi, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Political Bureau, will make an official visit to Russia from March 20 to 24.

Xi will make the visit as guest of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who is also chairman of the United Russian.

Xi will also travel to Belarus, Finland and Sweden for a week-long official visit, at the invitation of Belarusian President Alexander Kukashenko, Finnish President Tarja Halonen and Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, said Qin.
