BEIJING - A delegation led by Chiang Pin-kung, chairman of Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), will visit Taiwan businesses on the mainland late this month, a statement posted on the website of SEF said Monday.

The delegation will leave for the mainland March 24, and this visit is intended to gather information regarding development of Taiwan businesses in the central part of the mainland.

During the visit, the delegation will tour cities including Changsha, Hefei and Nanchang. The visit is scheduled to end on March 30, said the statement.

Apart from visiting Taiwan businesses, the delegation will also tour some local businesses in those cities in a bid to build a bridge for exchange and cooperation between Taiwan and mainland businesses, especially helping the mainland business people to make investments in Taiwan, according to the statement.

The mainland has approved 80,255 Taiwan invested businesses by late January, with the inflow of investments by Taiwan investors amounting to $49.71 billion, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce.
