Defense minister vows to advance ties with Thailand

BEIJING - Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie said China is ready to work with Thailand to push forward bilateral strategic cooperation.

Liang made the remarks when meeting with Puchong Rattanawan, commanding general of National Defence Studies Institute of Thailand.

"The two countries also enjoy friendly cooperation in politics, economy, science, technology, culture and other sectors, and maintain sound coordination in major international and regional issues," Liang said.

Puchong said the Thai armed forces would work with China to reinforce cooperation in training. He said friendly cooperation between the two countries and their militaries would be enhanced through joint efforts.
