The death sentence of the school attacker, convicted of killing eight school children and injuring five others, was upheld in the second trial Tuesday in Nanping, Fujian province, chinanews.com.cn reported Tuesday.

Zheng Minsheng, 41, admitted in court on April 8 that he "intentionally" killed the children at the gate of the Nanping Experimental Elementary School on March 23. He was given the death sentence but said he would appeal.

His sentencing was upheld at the second hearing by the Higher People's Court of Fujian on Tuesday.
