NINGBO, Zhejiang - Chairman of China's biggest mobile carrier China Mobile on Saturday reiterated the company's interest in selling Apple's iPad tablet computers in China.
This is the third time that Wang has expressed his company's interest in bringing Apple's iPad to China after he made such remarks in March and earlier this week.
China Unicom, a key rival of China Mobile, started to sell iPhones in China last October. Wang said his company was also talking to Apple about developing a next-generation iPhone that runs on TD-SCDMA, the home-grown third-generation (3G) mobile standard being used by China Mobile.
China Mobile has also made progress in exploring the e-book market by working with Hanwang, China's largest e-book maker, and other manufacturers to sell e-book readers using its 3G platform.
