BEIJING - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will pay a state visit to China from September 26 to 28 at the invitation of President Hu Jintao, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Monday.
President Medvedev will visit a memorial to Soviet Union war dead in northeast China's port city of Dalian and attend events to mark Russia Pavilion Day at the Shanghai Expo, ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said in a statement.
According to the Russian Embassy in China, China is home to 74 memorials commemorating around 34,500 Soviet soldiers who lost their lives in China's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-1945).
