BEIJING - The Chinese mainland's Taiwan affairs chief on Monday invited Taiwan compatriots living abroad to visit the mainland and support the peaceful development of cross-Straits ties.
He thanked the WTCC for its contributions to the improvement of cross-Straits ties and hoped Taiwan compatriots living overseas would play a more active role in promoting the peaceful development of ties.
He said Taiwan compatriots living abroad were welcome to "come home often and take a look."
Wang said the improvement of cross-Straits relations was inevitable as the mainland and Taiwan had the same origins, culture, traditions and historical responsibilities.
The delegation is the first from the WTCC to the mainland.
