Former Pakistan prime minister visits Expo

World Expo Shanghai 2010 is a defining event for promoting understanding among countries, people and cultures around the world, said Mr. Shaukat Aziz, former prime minister of Pakistan, while visiting the Pakistan Pavilion in Shanghai.

He said the Expo serves as an excellent platform to promote better living conditions and environment, which is the theme of this Expo.

Aziz appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Chinese government on urbanization and housing development so as to improve the quality of life for the Chinese people and a harmonious society, aptly reflected in the China Pavilion.

During a visit to the Pakistan Pavilion, Aziz said that it was a very impressive display of Pakistani history, culture and development, attracting a large number of visitors. He said that Pakistan has always valued its friendship with China, and China’s development and progress create a sense of pride in every Pakistani.
