About 440,000 visitors flooded to the Expo site by 7pm on July 12, bringing the total visitor flow to a new high of 26.14 million since the Expo's opening on May 1.
Among Monday's visitors, 152,000 were group tourists, and 63,000 visitors used free tickets Shanghai government distributed to local residents.
A total of 57, 306 tickets were sold on site, with 17,205 evening admissions.
As of 6pm, Houtan, Shangnan Road, Changqing Road, and Gaoke Road W. gates received 84,000, 75,000, 66,000, and 60,000 visitors respectively.
By 5pm, 81 shows were staged, attracting 55,500 spectators. A total of 6,330 volunteers served on the site.
According to the Expo Bureau's Ticketing Centre, some 165,000 group visitors will visit on July 13. Because of the rainfall forecast today and tomorrow, visitors are advised to carry umbrellas.
