Cooler weather sees rise in visitors at Expo

A total of 470,800 visitors toured the Expo site as of 7pm July 13 Tuesday, a rise of about 30,000 compared with Monday.

Continuous rainfall cooled the Expo site. Among Tuesday's visitors, 157,000 were group tourists, and 75,000 visitors used free tickets Shanghai government distributed to local residents.

A total of 56,147 tickets were sold on site, with 16,075 night admissions.

As of 6pm, Houtan, Shangnan Road, Changqing Road, and Gaoke Road W. gates received 86,000, 82,000, 70,000, and 61,000 visitors respectively.

A total of 57 shows were staged by 5pm within the site, attracting 46,100 spectators. Thirteen performances were cancelled due to rain, attracting 46,100 spectators.

According to the Expo Bureau's Ticketing Centre, 150,000-plus group visitors will visit on July 14. Cloudy weather is expected today. With the temperature gradually rising again, visitors are suggested to beware of heatstroke.
