China will always adhere to its national defense policy, which is defensive in nature, Cui told reporters at a briefing.

There is no reason for any other country to worry about China's defense policy, Cui added.

Cui's remarks come ahead of Chinese President Hu Jintao's Jan 18 to 21 visit to the United States.
