3 dead in east China bridge pile-up

SHANGHAI - Three people are dead and an unknown number are injured after a pile-up involving more than 10 vehicles on a cross-sea bridge in Shanghai in early Tuesday.

One of the injured was seriously hurt in the accident, which happened in heavy fog at about 7 am on the East China Sea Bridge, said a statement from Shanghai police.

The 32.5-km bridge links Shanghai with Yangshan Isle in Hangzhou Bay.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
