Pictures of a former farm house with a "sightseeing" elevator in Hangzhou have caused a buzz online after they were posted by a netizen on Sina micro blog.

The green elevator was installed in the building - now a community health service center - at the beginning of the year. It cost of 300,000 yuan ($46,900).

The secretary of the community neighborhood committee explained that the elevator could not be installed inside because of the interior structure, so it was decided to build it outside.
