BEIJING - China's meteorological authorities forecast Sunday that parts of the northeastern region will experience frost over the coming three days.
Northeastern parts of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and northwestern regions of Heilongjiang Province will see frost, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on its website.
Heavy rains will hit central and southern parts of Shaanxi Province, as well as southern parts of north China, northern and eastern parts of Sichuan Province and coastal areas in south China, with some regions seeing rainstorms, the NMC said.
Meanwhile, drought-hit regions in the southwest will continue to see light or moderate rains, the NMC said.
The drought in southwestern provinces of Guizhou, Yunnan and Sichuan, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Chongqing Municipality has left 12.6 million people short of drinking water and 3 million hectares of farmland parched, according to the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.
