HARBIN- Thirteen miners were trapped underground in a flooded coal mine in the city of Jixi in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, local authorities said Thursday.
The accident happened at a coal mine in Jidong County at around 5:40 pm Tuesday, an official with the Jixi government said.
The rescue operation is underway. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
