Chinese special envoy to visit Syria

BEIJING - Vice-Foreign Minister Zhai Jun, as a special envoy of the Chinese government, will pay a visit to Syria from February 17 to 18, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin announced at a press briefing on Thursday.
Zhai will exchange views with the Syrian government and relevant parties on the current Syrian situation and push for the peaceful and proper solution to the Syrian crisis, Liu said, adding that the specific schedule of the visit is being arranged.
