Li Jiheng re-elected governor of Yunnan province

KUNMING - Li Jiheng was re-elected governor of Southwest China's Yunnan province on Sunday during the first session of the 12th provincial People's Congress.

Li, born in 1957, is a native of the city of Guigang in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Li had been working in Guangxi before moving to Yunnan in July 2006.

He served as deputy secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China from 2006 to 2011.

Li was appointed Yunnan's vice-governor and acting governor in August 2011. He was elected governor of Yunnan at the fifth session of the 11th Yunnan Provincial People's Congress in February 2012.
