Beauty of Tibet painting contest kicks off

China Tibet Online on Thursday announced the opening the 2nd Beauty of Tibet Painting Contest. Painters in China can submit their Tibet-related paintings to the website Tibet.cn in the coming three months.

The first contest was held in 2011. The award-winning paintings were exhibited in Beijing and Shanghai, and also displayed on exhibitions held in Germany and Australia.

Wang Pijun, president of China Tibet Online, said the painting tour helps foreigners better understand the modernized Tibet and the people there.

Winning paintings in the second contest will also be displayed in exhibitions at home and abroad, Wang said.
