The Fujian Food And Drug Administration (FFDA) urges people to read Bai Tuo Pin Kun, Shake Off Poverty, President Xi Jinping's writings from when he worked in the province many years ago.
Xi's book, a total of 110,000 characters, was published 21 year's ago, including his articles and speeches from 1988 to 1990 when he worked as Party chief in Ningde, Fujian province. The initiative of studying Xi's works was hailed as part of CCP's ongoing "mass line" education campaign in a bid to strengthen Party-people relations.
The book's theme elaborates how to help lift people from poverty in the region as soon as possible. The emancipation of the mind is the key to put an end to poverty, Xi pointed out in office in Ningde. "The primary significance for the cadres is to get out of poverty on consciousness and thinking, rather than merely and materially lifted people from poverty", Xi said in the book.
