People on the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore think life in Singapore is the most desirable, according to a recent survey.
The survey, conducted by consultancy groups in the four economies, began last month and asked participants to evaluate their residence, income, employment, education, health, satisfaction with life, balance between work and life, security, government governance and environment.
More than 32 percent, 48 percent and 51 percent of participants from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan said living in Singapore was the most satisfactory. More than 40 percent of the respondents from Taiwan shared their view.
The survey was conducted on the mainland by the Horizon Research Consultancy Group in Beijing; in Hong Kong by the Hong Kong Economic Journal and the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies; in Taiwan by the Global Views Monthly; and in Singapore by the marketing department of Singapore Press Holdings.
The survey was based on the better life index of the Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.
