KUNMING - Two men were executed Friday for their role in an explosion and shooting that killed nine people in Southwest China's Yunnan province, a court statement said.
Wang Jianfu and Wang Feiyun were guilty of causing an explosion, intentional homicide and illegal gun possession that led to nine deaths, the statement from the Intermediate People's Court of Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture said.
It said that Wang Jianfu, running a coal mine in Huxi county, had a number of disputes with neighboring coal mine owner Zheng Chunyun.
On November 18, 2010, Wang planned the explosion with Wang Feiyun's help. The explosion killed two and injured 19 others. Wang Feiyun then shot seven people dead, the statement said.
Death sentences were previously announced for the two.
They appealed to the higher court. The judgement was upheld after judicial review by the Supreme People's Court.
