CHANGCHUN - Two people have been injured after an earthquake jolted Songyuan city in Northeast China's Jilin province at around noon on Sunday, local authorities said.
A 4.5-magnitude quake hit Qian Gorlos Mongol autonomous county in the city at 12:26 pm. Its depth was 10 km, with its epicenter located at 44.7 degrees north latitude and 124.1 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was in Chaganhua town in the county, according to sources with the city's seismological bureau.
The quake lasted for five seconds and was felt strongly, according to local residents.
The injured were rushed to a hospital, according to the local government.
The county was hit on Thursday by two consecutive earthquakes, measuring 5.5 and 5.0 magnitude respectively.
Buildings damaged in the earlier earthquakes collapsed after the latest quake, said the seismological bureau.
