A couple's car was damaged after they received payment in heavy bags of coins.
To add to their woes, banks refused to take the coins from the couple, in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, Wuhan Evening News reported on Monday.
The husband, surnamed Liang and his wife Huang, received 50,000 yuan ($8,200) four days ago as payment for work that Liang carried out.
But the money was in 1 yuan coins and weighed more than 300 kg.
The bags were so heavy that they damaged the suspension on the car.
Banks refused to handle the coins, saying that they did not have enough members of staff to count them.
