ZHENGZHOU - Seven people were killed and another injured after a building caught fire in Central China's Henan province on Monday night, local authorities said.
The fire burst out at around 11:07 pm on Monday in a house in Laonangang village in the economic and technological development zone in the provincial capital city of Zhengzhou, according to a statement from the zone's publicity department.
It engulfed a residential complex on the first floor of a five-story building and sprawled over 10 square meters, killing seven people and injuring another, before being put out, the statement said.
The identities of the dead and the cause of the fire are under investigation, local police said.
