An illegal seven-story building in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, was demolished on Tuesday, China News Service reported on Tuesday.
Located on Mingxiu Road, the residential building - 20 meters long, 1.7 to 2 meters wide and 20 meters high - looked as if it was made with thick paperboard, and residents worried that it would collapse in a natural disaster such as a storm.
The local government moved to demolish the building when officials discovered that the structure was built by a resident who had not received approval from the urban construction authority.
