Ex-school official charged in bribery case

A former official of two institutions of higher learning in Sichuan province has been charged with accepting more than 3 million yuan ($491,800) in bribes, Chengdu Economic Daily reported.

Zeng Huanglin reportedly received the bribes as president of Sichuan Institute of Light Industry and Chemical Technology and Sichuan University of Science and Engineering from 2002 to 2013.

The Yibin People’s Procuratorate began handling the case in late October and recently took it to the Yibin Intermediate People’s Court, as reported by Chengdu Economic Daily, which was quoting sc.jcy.gov.cn, the website of the Sichuan People’s Procuratorate.
