Three international scholars won the Award for Outstanding Contributions to China Studies at an academic forum in Shanghai on Saturday.

Dr. Sergei Leonidovich Tikhvinsky, of the Russian Academy of Science and former ambassador to China, Dr. Jao Tsung-I, emeritus professor of Chinese language and literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Ezra F. Vogel, Henry Ford II Research Professor of Social Sciences Emeritus at Harvard University were the three winners at the biennial World Forum on China Studies.
Vogel is also the author of Deng Xiaoping and the Transformation of China.
The award was presented to the most distinguished scholars in the field of humanities and social sciences to promote China studies overseas and to facilitate the friendly exchange between China and other countries.
