Beijing imposed random security checks at entrances to 11 parks and gardens on Wednesday that will last until March 15.
The move is aimed at ensuring security during the annual two sessions of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said the Beijing Administration Center of Parks on Wednesday.
This is the first time that security checks have been enforced at parks in Beijing during the two sessions.
Beijing launched security checks at park entrances during the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the country's 60th anniversary in 2009.
