A kindergarten in Hubei province, which was accused of giving children unauthorized prescription medicine, resumed classes on Monday, according to China News Service.

A total of 124 children returned on Monday to the Xingang Kindergarten in Yichang, which was shut down last week after parents claimed their children were given unauthorized anti-viral drugs.

About 200 children attended the private kindergarten before the incident.

The kindergarten was under investigation, and the school's head and deputy head have been detained.

The local education bureau took over the management of the kindergarten.

Early reports said that other kindergartens in several provinces, including Shaanxi and Jilin provinces, were also shut down under suspicion of giving children unauthorized medicines.
