According to the Tajik traditions, a man is not allowed to enter a house if the family's male host is not at home.

Phtotographer Wang Lie said he had to wait for Arimaner, a Tajik herdsman, to come back from the mountains before he could enter the traditional Tajik house to meet his wife and daughters.
