The 2015 China National Computer Congress (CNCC) will focus on "the new economic model promoted by the Internet," it was announced Friday.

The annual congress will be held from Oct. 22 to 24 in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province. More than 4,000 industry experts and entrepreneurs from across the world will attend.

"The congress is now focused on the transfer of academic achievements to industry development, instead of a purely scientific research event," said Sun Ninghui, executive director of the China Computer Federation (CCF).

Business representatives now account for nearly 30 percent of congress participants, Sun added.

Wu Gansha, head of the Intel Labs China, will preside over the "Internet Plus" forum. Business representatives from leading Chinese enterprises, such as Alibaba, DJI Innovations and Deep Glint, will also be involved.

Other forums will discuss topics such as controlled software and hardware, artificial intelligence, industrial big data, information security and storage technology.

The CNCC is an academic conference, which has been sponsored by the CCF since 2003. It covers the latest breakthroughs in computer science and IT, forecasts development trends, and presents key academic achievements and applications.
