A migrant worker who returned home to take care of his parents and children manages to live a comfortable life in a remote southwestern village in Guizhou, one of China's most underdeveloped provinces.

Wang Zhigang's family-run farmhouse restaurant Red Home in Huamao village was visited in June by President Xi Jinping, who spent half-an-hour chatting with the self-made farmer-turned-businessman in his small courtyard.

"President Xi chatted with the villagers about the daily life in my courtyard," Wang recalled. "He asked us in detail about what we planted in the fields, how we manage our land and how our restaurant was going".

Xi's visit helped make Wang's restaurant known by even more people and business surged.
