Simulated training of bomb-disposal along with studying the structures and characteristics of bombs after training helped Yu Yang master the needed skills in less than two years, which is at least one year shorter than the time an ordinary soldier needs.
As an outstanding bomb-disposal expert, Yu took part in a Sino-US joint military exercise centering on humanitarian rescue and disaster alleviation in Seattle, US, in November 2015. Yu's expertise won praise from US counterparts.
