Zeng Tao
Born in 1914, Zeng was the first ever spokesperson for the NPC, serving from 1983 to 1988.
Zeng, once the president of Xinhua News Agency, was an experienced diplomat with stints as ambassador to Algeria, Yugoslavia and France.
Zeng passed away on Feb 28, 1997.
