Acting governor named in Jiangsu

Wu Zhenglong, former top official of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, was appointed on Wednesday acting governor of the province, replacing Shi Taifeng. Acting governor named in Jiangsu

Born in 1964, Wu has a bachelor's degree in engineering and is a senior engineer. From 1999 to 2016, he held senior posts in Chongqing municipality and Shanxi province until 2016, when he was transferred to work as Party chief of Nanjing.

From 1984 to 1999, Wu worked in various posts in some ministries and a large State-owned company, including the former ministry of ordnance industry, the former state commission of machinery industry and China National Machinery Equipment Group Corp.

Since 1999, Wu worked first as the deputy director of the general office of the Chongqing government, and later as secretary-general of the municipality.

After working in Chongqing municipality for 15 years, Wu was transferred to Shanxi province in 2014. He worked as the Party chief of Taiyuan, the provincial capital, for two years before being appointed Party chief of Nanjing and deputy Party chief of Jiangsu province in September 2016.

Wu was also member of the 11th and 12th National People's Congress, and was an alternate member of the CPC Central Committee.

Shi Taifeng, former governor of Jiangsu province, was transferred to the Ningxia Hui autonomous region in April.
