64th Berlin International Film Festival kicks off

Kate Winslet is in talks to star in 'Triple Nine'.

The 38-year-old actress - who welcomed her third child Bear into the world just two months ago - is in negotiations to take on the lead role in John Hillcoat's upcoming crime thriller, according to Variety.

The role, if she accepts, would see the blonde beauty star opposite Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B. Jordan, Aaron Paul, Gal Gadot, Teresa Palmer and Michael Pena.

The story follows a group of Los Angeles corrupt cops, who plan a major heist, but set out to murder one of their colleagues in a bid to distract the authorities from the robbery across town.

Hillcoat will direct from a script penned by Matt Cook, while Keith Redmon, Bard Dorros and Steve Golin produce the movie for Anonymous Content.

Winslet is currently starring as Adele opposite Josh Brolin in 'Labor Day' and she recently received a Golden Globe nomination for her remarkable performance in the drama.

She will next be seen playing Jeanine Matthews in the young adult novel adaptation 'Divergent'.

'Triple Nine' set for release in 2015.
