The Xingjiao Temple Pagoda in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi province, June 30, 2014. The Buddhist pagoda was built to preserve the remains of Xuanzang, a famous monk, translator and explorer of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907). The pagoda was named a World Heritage site of the ancient Silk Road on June 22, along with six other sites in Shaanxi province.UNESCO designated a 5,000 km stretch of the Silk Road network from Central China to Central Asia as a new World Heritage Site. The corridor spans China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and includes 33 new sites and several previously designated heritage sites. [Photo/Xinhua]
