Sichuan hosts National Farmers' Culture & Art Expo

The 4th National Farmers' Culture & Art Expo in Dazhou city in Southwest China's Sichuan province is underway. Farmer who are also artists from villages all over the country have gathered to showcase their own unique styles.

At the expo, folk artists from around the country bring their unique performances to the stage, proving they are not only good at farmwork, but are also talented performers.

"This is a unique instrument from our hometown. We hope to bring luck and happiness to audiences here," said one performer.

"This is actually a tool we use to do farm work. But it can also make some delightful sound. Just like this," a performer said.

And the performances are making an impression.

"Our villages and our lives have changed a lot over the years, and the performers bring that alive on stage," said a local resident.

The expo was initiated in 2011. Now in its fourth year, organizers have also included some new sections. Besides the performing arts gala, there are also traditional craft shows, photography exhibitions and more.
